Accidentals and un-dis-irregardleses : poems I accidentally wrote / Baxter Huston.
"I've always been fascinated by the magical, creative results of the symbiotic nature of language and the Human interpretive instinct. I'm not talking simply about the creative abilities of a user of the language but rather the magical influence a word or an expressed though construct has on a mind, beyond the intent of the 'expresser'. The only thing that truly allows us to connect with each other in any meaningful way at all is language but the way something is said can dramatically change how it is received even though the core meaning of the word used is identical in each mind. That's why when we want to communicate something which is beyond words to describe we turn to poetry, the language of the indescribable. Poetic traditions have many tricks to use to hold the attention and induce introspection in the listener. Often something profound is communicated totally by accident ...but then, so is stupidity I suppose. It's still magic though."-- Back cover.
