Le garçon et l'univers

Summary: Darra, suburb of Brisbane, 1985. Eli, soon 13 years old, grew up between a toxic mother, a big brother and, as a babysitter, one of Australia's most famous former prisoners: Arthur "Slim" Halliday. But Eli knows nothing else and, in the absence of his biological father, can count on the "good bad men" who surround him: his father-in-law Lyle, who has plunged his mother into drugs but is now trying to get out of it; Slim, that his long experience in isolation cell made philosopher; Gus, his brother, who communicates by writing in the air and seems to have the talents of a diviner. One day, Eli discovers in the family pavilion a secret room that contains drugs and a mysterious red phone.
